Courts will continue to be free of charge for all active members and guests of members for the time being.
Courts may be booked between 9am-10pm (i.e. play must finish at 10pm) all days of the week (i.e. where there are no existing bookings indicated in the booking system). Badminton England's guidance* now permits singles and doubles between players from different households under the rule of 6 or between two households. This means that up to 6 players may play together (i.e., interchanging partners) on one court.
Where more than 4 players are booked on a court, the non-players must adhere to Covid guidelines of social distancing and wearing masks. Two (socially distanced) chairs should be available on each court for the non-players and must be used. Cleaning kits are available for each court and chairs should be cleaned before use by the relevant person.
To minimise the traffic and contact in the bar/lounge area this area must not be used while waiting to play. Should the club find this is consistently not being adhered to we may have to reconsider the Rule of 6 and revert to a maximum of 4 per court.
All sports bags must be kept at the back of the court being used. The baggage storage areas will continue to be out of bounds.
Members will only be able to book badminton courts via the Club's online booking system. It is mandatory to provide full details of each player: 2 names for Singles and maximum of 6 names for Doubles. As our booking system only allows for a maximum of 4 names to be entered online, the remaining players' details (if more than 4) must be emailed to the office (email@example.com) - ideally at the time of booking, but definitely prior to play. In the email please include: the members name, the date & time of play.
Members are requested to organise games from 7pm -10pm amongst active members only (i.e. those whose names are available to select from on the list when booking the court). Those whose subscriptions are currently frozen are requested to e-mail the office to ask them to be re-activated before they play.
Badminton Junior & PC sessions will continue as currently with maximum ratio of 1:15.
Club Session nights continue to be suspended for the time being, but the committee will be actively looking at ways that might enable organised group sessions to be played in a Covid-safe way for up to 16 (which is now also allowed under Step 3* - subject to venue limitations).
The changing rooms and showers will remain closed for the time being (but toilets will be available).
There will be no shuttles available to purchase other than when staff are on site. Please make sure you bring your own.
Spectators are discouraged unless required to be present for safeguarding reasons, in which case they must sit in the bar/lounge area and adhere to the club's Covid safety policy. Badminton Hall lights must be switched off at closing time when the last person leaves.
We will be monitoring bookings to ensure the guidance is being followed as well as conducting spot checks.
